Before a load rolls, the truck is inspected and the freight is secured against shifting in transit. Much of Long Road's dry van work begins at the port. Long Road picks up containers at the Port of Seattle and Port of Tacoma through its container drayage service, strips the cargo into a dry van at its Kent warehouse, and runs the freight on for long-haul or regional delivery. Stripping the cargo into a trailer also takes the container back to the port sooner, which keeps per-diem off the customer's bill.
