From the port to the Kent warehouse

The move starts at the terminal. Long Road's container drayage hauls the loaded ocean container off the Port of Seattle or Port of Tacoma, brings it to the Kent warehouse, and the freight comes off there for the road leg.

At the warehouse, the team devans the container, taking out floor-loaded or palletized cargo, building it onto pallets for a domestic 53-foot trailer, and staging it for the outbound run. Sorting and consolidating at the dock keeps the inland leg on a domestic trailer.

Pallet storage and staging

The Kent warehouse holds more than 5,000 pallet positions, racked and floor, for short and long term storage. Cargo stages there until the receiver's window opens, then ships out on the trailer that fits the next leg.
